Class A Vista 26HE or Class C Winnie Minnie 27Q ?

Hi All,

I already had a C but I think my next RV would be a bigger C or an A . To be fair, I am asking this question in both Class A and Class C forum.

Have you ever had to decide between a class A and a class C ? If you have around $80,000 to buy a new mid size rv (around 25-30 feet). Would you choose a Class A Vista 26HE or a Class C Winnie Minnie 27Q and why ?

Winnebago makes a Class A Vista 26HE and Class C Winnie Minnie 27Q. Both are about the same size/price . I am more concerned about

1. Maintenance cost
2. Easy to operate
3. convenience factor

  • Why is C more convenience than A ?

Class C because of all three fact that you mention
  • Would not the floor plan/layout be more important? Especially if other things are equal? Those sizes sound very attractive. How about the storage areas?

That 26HE was on special over the last couple years for $69-something-K which is an amazing price for a WinnTasca let alone a Class A. We looked at them and they're nice. Just that we wanted a dinette and a sofa and the space didn't allow it. I'd like to have the Class A Visibility on the road. Wide Open Panorama. Still, the C has a much safer steel cab with real doors for in/out on the trip.
  • the 26HE Class A. similar floor plan as my Chieftain. liked that you could shut the two doors and have a large dressing area beside the shower. yet you had a completely private room with toilet and vanity.

The C wins hands down in all three. Add in that they are far safer and easier to service and the choice becomes clear but...

    As always, Opinions and YMMV.

Whichever way you decide to go, keep in mind that $80,000 you're talking about with those particular motor homes, is the list price. You should be paying somewhere between ~ $60K to ~ $70K for those MHs.
In Mar. 2013 I bought a 2014 MH (obviously very early in the model year) at about 27% off list price.

The 27' Brave floor-plan looks exceptional:
    --Front bed
    --Rear walk around Queen bed
    --U-shaped dinette
--Front seats swivel and are useable.
--Open large living area with front bed elevated.
    --Separate shower and john.

For extended trips (watching movies, etc.) a U shaped dinette and/or swivel chairs should be more comfortable than the face-to-face dinette seating. Only downside I see is need to make up second bed at night.

Think that could be my "next" RV. Lots of livable space in a compact RV.

Same Ford V-10 engine/drivetrain as "C" will be similar in serviceability.
