Coach manufacturers under one million dollars?

I'd go refurb next winter. Take the interior out and start over. It'd be fun and you trust the one you have. Take a look at this outfit. Depending on how long they say it would take you could stay in a B&B or rent a house on Airb&b short term. Nacodoches is a boring, dusty E Texas town, been there lots of times.

doublev - As I recall, your CC is an Affinity. (Believe I remember a post last year about rust on the bottom of the coach?).

IMO - A 2008 Affinity is still one of the finest coaches available rolling down our highways. Certainly towards the top of the pacing order of mere mortal coaches:)!

So yes, I'd be in the camp of spending significantly less funds and customizing the interior and other goodies that you want. If you have not resolved the rust issue, that too, as long as it's surface rust, should be an inexpensive repair in the overall scheme of things. You could even spring for a $25-40K custom paint job, and sell be probably within the $150-200K mark for a major 'refresh' of your coach.

Now, saying all of that. If it's just that you want something new, and have the funds, well - nothing wrong with that. If I had a reason to jump out of our 04 Allure (Which I don't, as we've got it just about dialed in and modified the interior to what we like/want.), I'd go and order a Foretravel Realm.

If you're happy with your basic floorplan, I guess I'd be in the camp to suggest you modernize your present rig to your satisfaction.

I'd also like to echo that you're in an enviable position to be able to make such choices. :)

We were camping in New Jersey this past summer and there was a beautiful, newer (about 2 years old) high-end DP motorhome (probably $500k-ish). I forgot the make and model, but suffice it to say I was drooling over it our entire stay. I told my wife, when I'm ready to retire, used rigs like that will hopefully be within our financial grasp.

I had the opportunity to meet the couple who owned it and I complimented them on their beautiful coach. They were appreciative of the compliments, but they were also quick to add..."we liked our older rig better". Again, I forget brands, but it was a comparable rig, about 6 years older than this one. When I asked "How come?" They both said "All of the dang electronics & remotes! It's too complicated for us!" They wanted dedicated knobs & switches, not touch panels on their ipads/phones/whatever. I guess I can empathize.

As I'm getting older, I too, pine for the days where every function on a piece of equipment had it's own knob or button. Listening to the radio...want more treble? Give the treble knob a turn. Want the CD player? Push the "CD" button. Now, everything is menu driven. More flexible? Sure. Cheaper to build? Sure. More user friendly? That depends who the user is.

So, if you really embrace the "menu-driven technology" trend, then this probably wouldn't bother you. For me, I am now seriously thinking that when the time comes to start looking, I'm going to look for an even older, higher end rig. One from the era before everything could be controlled by an app on a phone.

Maybe that's just me. Gosh....I sound like my dad! LOL

Very nice! Is that a Silverleaf glass dash upgrade?

I wish Silverleaf would come out with a better VMSpc, even at an add-on price. I know they CAN do it and having been in related industries I would argue that doing so would increase their hardware sales. Plus if it was an add-on price they would get extra money for the better software as well.

You didn't say what model you have but I would keep it and update as necessary. You know what you have and how it has been treated.

I would give Foretravel and Travel Supreme a look. I did an inspection on a Travel Supreme last summer and it was a beautiful coach. All electric, residential fridge, Hydro Hot in the floor, 12KW Onan. Went for less that $100k.
