The big MPG advantage to the small turbo engines is they are efficient when running empty...they can pull big loads but will burn lots of fuel to do it.
If you have a truck that does 90% of miles empty, this works out great.
With a dedicated RV, it's never running empty, so there is no fuel savings to be had.
So where I live, diesel is about $.75 a gallon, or 30% more than regular gas. Add in the additional cost and hassle of servicing a Sprinter and I'm thinking seriously of going gas. I've owned several diesel pickups in the past, but I'm trying to imagine why diesel's a better solution in today's world. - valhalla360NavigatorThe big MPG advantage to the small turbo engines is they are efficient when running empty...they can pull big loads but will burn lots of fuel to do it.
