CORRECT.
CONVERTER takes 120 VAC and converts it to 12 VDC-- actually 13.2+ VDC.
INVERTER takes battery power (12+ VDC) and inverts it to 120 VAC (some better than others-- Modified Sine Wave vs Pure Sine Wave.
