Cracks in over head bunk

Still not 100% sure of the location .. but if that's on the outside bottom of the cabover I wonder what could possibly create enough stress to crack the outside shell. Any chance that your "roof leak" created enough water issues inside the cabover area to rot out the supports creating enough sag/stress to crack the outside shell?

I agree, OP, couple of years ago I hit a roof eve. Punched a hole in the overhead. Ins covered it. It was 5k. But on one hand being as ins covered it, The bill may have been higher than self pay. On the other hand there was no wood rot to deal with. So I would not be surprised to see that kind of money for your repair if you do have rot.

You might be able to get at it from the inside, to get an idea of what you are dealing with. Then make your decision from there. Just a thought

Sure looks like you hit something, or something hit you.
What ever repair you choose, I would think it would have to be pretty robust, to hold up to 60mph, in a driving rain storm. Would be like holding a pressure washer over the spot.

Bigger concern I think, is if has been there for a long time, you may have a big wood rot problem. No way to know without cracking the thing open

I would be out looking for a place that does fibregalss repairs. They will be able to fix that properly. Not fixing it will just result in more cracking and ultimately the danger of a cap failure.

Tape and glue is not fixing..it is just covering the damage.

The one on the passenger's side looks like a crack. I would think that caulk should seal that up. Clean it up good first and if you think it might continue to grow, drill a hole at the end of it before caulking.

The other looks as if it has been crushed. Eternabond should work but it may not be pretty.

BTW, if you set the width of your photos to 640 they will fit in the available space better. Edit: Looks like it took the height=640 and ignored the width=480. Probably should only specify the longest dimension.

The red dot in the middle is the first pic and the red dot on the passenger is the second pic. Hope that clarify's some.

I'm confused. Is the first photo inside or outside on the roof of the Class C?

Sorry should of stated this is the bottom lip where it curls under towards the cab.

Not sure what I am looking at. If that's the overhead bed? My bed is made out of thick heavy plywood with a veneer - when it got wet I ended up replacing the veneer.
