You're most certainly welcome. Yes, you can and should put it in the sink, if it will fit. And, I'd wrap it with a towel or something suitable that will keep that prescious meal IN THE POT during the travels. You don't have to worry about over heating the pot, they're internally controlled. They don't care what's wrapped around them. Been there done that.
