House Battery Question.
Has anyone used a CROWN CR-220 CR 220 6 VOLT 220 AH GC2 DEEP CYCLE WET Flooded BATTERY?

I read an article that said Rated Best RV Deep Cycle Battery and Can Last More Than 5-6 Years With Regular Maintenance and Care made in Fremont,OH. USA.

Where exactly did you read that article ?
    Others might find it helpful.

I think the above statement is true of a lot of true deep cycle batteries though.
  • Have these and get 6 years out of them. On my 3rd set
I keep them charged and watered properly.
Don't ever let your battery die..do this 2 to 3 ties and their done.
  • Haven't tried that brand, we purchase most of our batteries from Samsclub including the 6 volt GC2 batteries we use for RVing. Last set were Interstates that gave us 7 years of reliable service, although they still had life in them we recently traded them in for a fresh pair. Paid just $60 each for the prior pair nearly 8 years ago and a just over $80 each for the new set last April.

Since most batteries are made by a couple of companies, maintenance and charging procedures primarily account for their overall performance and longevity. We have a smart converter and our rig is plugged 24/7 which works great for us, we do check fluid levels monthly but they only require topping off twice a year if that. Good luck with your new set of GC2 batteries.
  • I used Interstate Batteries in the past and got 3 years and 8 months out them then tried Duracell from Sam's Club and they are 2 years and 4 months and loosing their charge while in storage. Everything is shut of at my Circuit boxes and the main switch at the door and they still are going down to 12.0-12.2 volts.
I have located a source for the Crown CR220-6 volt batteries and will try them, based on the good report from Earnest. I maintain the water monthly and when stored for the Winter in my VersaTube shelter I run my generator monthly as recommended by Onan,
