It would be a great name for a band though.

Pure snake oil. They pay the wash rack guy to apply it, an hour at 8 bucks, 1.00 worth of materials and charge you 1800.00. Mostly pure profit to the dealer. I don't buy add garbage from dealers or extended warranties, you get a better deal on the open market.

Thanks gang, I'll skip that option along with the exterior and interior treatment they also told me about.

As general rule of thumb, anything the dealer tries to sell you is much better for them than for you. Just say "NO".

Our dealership's "add on" person tried to sell us Diamond Shield....which came standard on our coach.

Had a windshield replaced about 9 years ago..rates stayed the same.

That stuff sounds like snake oil to me too.

Who is the dealer?

Our '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD had it done the windshield, BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, not us. That coating, at the time, was just under a thousand bucks. He also had a similar coating, applied to the full body paint. That coating was also, real close to a thousand bucks. He really thought that he was doing his motor home some real down to earth protection.

Well, as far as "protection" for the windshield, I can tell you that it doesn't hold up to some serious rocks coming at it at about 65 mph. We've had that windshield repaired, no less than about, 7 or 8 times so far, in the time we've owned the coach, about 4 years now.

So, in all reality, yep, just like everyone else is saying to you, walk away. It's junk, and EXPESIVE JUNK at that.

Any application error or screw up and you're stuck with it until you replace your windshield.
