Destin FL area Weather

Too cold for us in those months, we winter much father south. OH:S and WELCOME!:)

i am not sure but been in the area in December and it is cold at night and maybe mid 60s at that time. I think you would use a lot less propane by going south.

40's at night and 60's and 70's during the day. Extremes: teens at night and 80's during day. Given that, there is nothing colder than wind off the gulf in February and March when the outside temp is below 60. Good news is that it usually warms up in a couple days.

It's all relative...consider it will be a lot warmer than it is anywhere in Pennsylvania during those months....:):)...Dennis

Agree with Executive. I live about an hour from Destin. I have relatives who live in Montana. They came for a visit in January February and were swimming in the gulf. It is way too cold for me during that time, but you may think it is perfect. Make your reservations early. Many snowbirds take up the RV parks during this time of year. I think the gulf temps in the winter are warmer than the great lakes during the summer.

To the OP, It will be warmer than you're used to, but it still gets chilly. As others have posted, you might be better further south if you are looking for warm.

That said, as your first winter down south, it might just be warm enough for you.

As mentioned, it's all relative. As a native north Floridian, I spent my first winter in shorts and t-shirts upon moving to Key West in Oct. of '63, living there for several years. In 65 years, that's the only winter I've spent without long pants, a sweater or jacket.

Been wondering that myself. We plan to spend January and February in a condo in Panama City Beach. Figuring that it will be cool, but considering zero and below temps in Missouri during those months, we are hoping that we will enjoy watching the weather channel while we are there. We don't swim anyway, just enjoy watching the ocean waves and a few dolphins now and then!
