I would advise against it, no matter how much you like the prospective renters. I rented my home out once to "the very best friend" of my cousin who needed to consolidate housing for his family.
Many thou$and$ of dollar$ later, I had to sell my home at a lo$$, plus took the hit of $tolen item$ and huge vandali$m.
