They will send a little wrecker from this area that is not large enough to tow you and he will take on look at the size of your motorhome and return to his shop and call the dispatch in Buffalo and tell them that he can't tow you. If your lucky, about 4 hours later maybe a large wrecker from Buffalo will show up for the tow.wny_pat wrote:TubaPete wrote:Pardon me, but my son towed contracted to AAA in the southern tier of western NYS and left many motorhomes sitting on the side of the road because the AAA agent just dispatched a little wrecker to tow a way to big motorhome. So much for your "agents"!!! Each AAA area is different and not all have the RV Plus regardless of what that agent tells you! Will your AAA agent tow a motorhome from Alaska to the lower 48??? Coach-Net has!!!
Pardon me, but isn't why we have agents? I would call mine instead of asking a bunch of people who may not even have AAA.
LOL...you are confusing a bad agent with the service provided in the area. I am a Western NY AAA RV Premium member and have been for years. I can confirm they *will* tow a Class A. In my earlier post I even provided one of the tow companies. However, I can confirm that I did have an agent one time attempt to sent the wrong tow truck, but corrected on a follow up call, so I agree there. I have absolutely no plans to take my RV outside the northeast, so I am fine with the coverage here and really don't care now if they will tow it to Hawaii :W If I was retired and traveling across the US and had no other vehicles, I may look at the other offerings.
No classic car coverage and no towing to my house (forget which ones-Coach Net or Good Sam) were deal killers as I was looking at other options before I renewed AAA. I liked the unlimited tow option, but after thinking about it, I don't recall any year where I needed more than two tows.
Bottom line, depending what you need, either of the three services may work for you, so need to compare all options.
Oh, I flew to Alaska and rented a RV with my family a few yrs ago..no need for coverage :)
