Do you end up also registering your vehicles where you have your residence, and have your driver license from that state???
If so -- I believe Texas has a special license for the RV that is more complicated. In Florida (where I live) there is no special RV license.
When you register a vehicle for the first time in FL you have to have the VIN verified by the police. I had a palm beach county police person who lives in our community verify mine so I could register it.
RV license fees are reasonable. When you first register you will need some proof of taxes paid -- otherwise you might owe sales tax on the RV value.
Same for registering cars for the first time.
good luck -- let us know what you choose and how it goes.
