My bed is over the diesel engine, which has an access cover to the top of the engine. Under the bed (and on top of that access cover) is plenty of room for storage. But I've noticed it gets pretty hot...

There isn’t much space between the bed and the hatch in our older Newmar! It might serve as an ironing board but that’s about it!
