EGR location 2006 Ford E350 V10 6.8l

I hate to bother you guys again, but I've looked and looked and cannot find the
EGR valve on my 2006 6.8l V10 E350 in order to replace it .... I googled everything
(and I'm a good googler) and can find pics of the prior model (1999, 2001) but nothing
that I can find looks like my engine ... and I cannot see any tube coming from the
exhaust manifold on either side ... here is a pic of the older model:

according to three different parts websites, the EGR valve for my 2006 is this one,
which looks the same as the one in the older model pic above, but I cannot find anything
on the engine that looks like this (I have a new one in my hand)

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Wasn't there a point where the EGR was stopped being used on the V10? I too would check ignition coils. From what I understand the ECM is not fast to report misfire codes, but somehow Ford with their reader can get misfire info.

Could be lots of things causing that symptom. There are many issues much more likely to cause this vs a bad EGR valve. A bad coil is the most probable. But make sure all scheduled maintenance is up to speed before chasing parts.

Check your hoses, I had a cracked hose on my last V10

Why do you think it needs replacing? If its throwing an EGR code, it's probably the DPFE. Info: http://easyautodiagnostics.com/ford/4.6L-5.4L/how-to-test-the-egr-system-1

CA/50-state V10s have EGR. Mine does.

I think it's on the drivers side, but I think you are in right area, the missing bolt suggests someone has already been in the area "doing things"
People do "delete" the EGR
