Experiences with Toyo M144 tires in winter

I have 2 year old Toyo M144 tires (225/80R22.5) on my new to me 2006 Monaco Camelot 42-DSQ

Can anyone who has these same tires comment on how well they do on winter roads? I don't intend to run them on really icy roads, but I am think more about when I encounter snow while travelling from Alberta to Arizona & Texas.

I have been thinking of maybe getting some cable type tire chains just in case I get caught and need to make it to a safe place to wait out a storm.
  • I didn't have Toyo's but ran Goodyear Steering tread tires on my drives and made the trek from central Alberta several times with no incident. I got caught in a snowstorm around Jasper once and drove through six inches of snow with no issues. A really steep hill would probably been different.
I did buy a set of cable chains but never needed to put them on. Cheap insurance to have them along.
I always watched the weather forecasts before travelling and stayed off the road if a storm was coming through.
  • i have driven mine in all weather with out any problem.that includes the icefield parkway in near blizzard conditions the had good grip.i will be buying them again when mine age out.
