We purchased our 2008 almost 2yrs ago and got an extended warranty and have had over $7k in repairs. 2 Slide toppers, air conditioner seal on 1 of the 3 air units and the major repair that took over a week to fix.. an EGR cooler. Nothing was covered by extended warranty through Good Sam and neither them or Coach-Net covered the time in a hotel with 2 dogs as their “was no collision”.. just repairs and a week of
“downtime” waiting for parts/repairs.
We have since took out a $30k line of credit for repairs and annual maintenance, if needed.
We just got 8 new Michelin Energy 2 395x80Rx22.5 tires at $900 a piece (no thanks to FMCA), as the major East Coast RV repair facility refused to deal with their discount for some reason.
Next up 10 new Koni FSD shocks at $165 a piece (me buying online) and another $1,200 to install.
My point is these things cost money to keep up with, but to us it is our home as we live in it full time and love every minute of it.
As a guy once asked me..Do those things appreciate? My reply.. I appreciate the hell out of mine..they are moneypits bud...
