We've been looking and learning for about a year. We've been to RV dealers who rent and sell the rentals, straight RV dealers, craigslist, online sites. We started out looking at Class C's but after looking at the Class A's, that's what we decided would fit our needs. We had made up our mind to buy a well maintained 2004 Gulfstream Cavalier rental with 47K miles for the $23K. When slept on it, and by the time we went back, the price went up to $30K. We walked away. I thought with gas prices high, and people afraid to spend money, we would find it easier to make deals.
We found this listing and will be checking it out in May. We heard that Winnebago has it's own factory and it is easy to find parts should the vehicle need them. The owner will be driving it from his home to Massachusetts in a few weeks. He has a wedding to attend. It is being used and from what I'm reading, that's a good thing.
If anyone has had any experience with this model and year, we'd love to hear what you have to say. I'll be "How to buy an rv" list that Johnny T posted. I'll do a NADA on it before making an offer.
