Fix for Power Control System message "Wiring Status Error"
After picking up my new motor home and starting the 700-mile drive home, I noticed that the roof air conditioners would not run while driving even though the generator was on. They worked just fine while plugged in to shore power, so I knew they were OK, and the generator itself appeared to be working fine.
I consulted the Power Control System monitor panel and found that the Wiring Status display said "Error L1 <> L2". I tried numerous internet searches for the meaning of error messages on this panel and couldn't find any.
I called the technician at the dealer today and described this problem. He directed me to the generator itself and the circuit breaker on it which was in the OFF position. Once I set it to ON, the error message disappeared and everything started running as expected.
I realized after the fact that we did the PDI with the unit plugged in to shore power, not on generator alone. Had we done that, this error would have been found and fixed much earlier.
Just wanted to post this in case someone else has the same problem.
