flip out dinette table broken can't find replacement

Walt's RV in Fontana carries different and interesting RV parts. Plan on being there all day if you go. Used, new, one of a kind, taillights, all types of items taken off but nearly

new from different manufacturers. They moved into a warehouse last year or so, for those that have been there you may ask, how. It's like a RV swap meet.

There are a few RV dinette tables on EBAY. Maybe one of them will work for you.

These are all RV liquidators and have a variety of stuff. I think they all have table tops. . . you would just have to inquire about the size.

when I replaced my table I just had Lowe's/Home Depot do the one free cut on the 2 x 4 oak plywood to make it 2 ft. x 32 inches, or whatever the appropriate length was. the edging 1 x 2s? were easy to do myself.

I'm no cabinet pro, but I have a personal wood shop. Odds are others in his neighborhood do too. If someone came over with a sheet of 3/4" ply and wanted it ripped down to size, I'd be happy to.

Ya beat me to it , I live about 20 minutes away from this place.
The main guy that ran it passed away , but the shop is still there.
They have enough stuff to build a MH, TT from all the parts they have ! We go there once in awhile just to look through all the stuff they have !

On our 5000 , previous owner did something and broke the corner next to wall, and bent the brackets to remove it to lower it.
I removed the brackets, went down to Ace Hardware and bought a long door hinge (look at your bathroom door hinge )
Its just the 2 of us and don't plan on anybody else so mounted the table to the wall with the hinge.

I have a good friend that does wood working, so this winters project we are going to do what a few above have done "make a new table top".
I'm going to save the plastic/molding edge and on the new piece for table top will either router or use table saw and put a groove in the sides so I can put the old plastic/molding trim back on.
Not to mention will be ALOT lighter too ;)

The way I have it set up now with the hinge its solid and doesn't wiggle and make noise like it did before with all the sloppy hardware .

Bontragers RV Surplus in White Pigeon, Michigan had lots of finished table tops when I visited in May.. They also sell folding legs. I think they were $9. 866-483-7017

We actually took our "swing down" table assembly off and screwed in two folding legs. We like the ability to move our dinette table. The grands move it close; my dh, with an amble belly, :-) moves it away for easy entry.

On one of our old TTs, I got tired of lifting the heavy MDF table so I made a 1x1 ladder frame and skinned it with 1/4" hardwood ply that matched the cabinets. Shot it with Minwax urethane. Looked nice and was so much lighter to set up.
