Is is now 2015 and we have not seen any information about Pleasureway or other vans using the Ford Transit. Have any of you heard anything? We hope to find one this spring.

Thanks!

Ford Australia has an interesting philosophy, do not mention it exists. We get the slightly smaller Van. No advertising or promotion, like it is a top secret project

I expect most of them are being sold/leased to fleet operations. They are pretty pricey for a small business.

I am seriously interested in getting a used one in 2-3 years for a DIY minimalist conversion. Maybe some of these will be on the used market at a reasonable price by that time!

Might be a problem with the early unit he has and therefore doesn't want to put it out front. If he only has one you would think a local contractor or delivery company would have interest in it if priced right an nothing wrong with it.

Good news though: The Transit is the #1 selling Euro van in the US now, blowing past both the ProMaster and the Sprinter.

With demand so great, especially with fleets, this is not surprising. Of course, RV upfits are a relatively tiny market, so I'd probably not see many commercial models for a year or two, outside of Sportsmobile upfits.

Production is still constrained and currently they are still trying to fill the retail pipeline where they make their money.

Pleasure-way will most likely go with their tried and true floor plan as they did with the Promaster so only the details may be of interest. Will the other converters try a more clean slate approach like Roadtrek did with the Zion?

The last time I spoke with Pleasure-way regarding the Transit, Phil told me that Ford keeps pushing the delivery to them back but at that time the latest delivery date was to be sometime in January. Hopefully they have one or two by now and are starting the engineering. I too am looking forward to seeing the end results. If you have google earth capabilities try zooming in on their parking lot and try to identify what you see back there if they are not covered with snow.
