Hello all, so I brought my 90 Airex home last night YES! I'm in search of recommendations from this great forum on generator batteries. From what I can tell, I'm running an Onen 4000. I believe it takes two batteries. Anyhow, any recommendations would great.

Your genny doesn't "take" batteries, per se. It's starts via either the engine-start battery (often called the 'chassis' battery) or the auxiliary batteries (often called the 'coach' or 'house' batteries). It should, when running, charge the house batteries, and POSSIBLY, but not probably, the engine battery. In most cases, the engine/starting battery is charged by the alternator only, when the engine is running. Once you start the genny, your converter panel should, in a second or two, switch over the current so that your 12v and 120v systems are powered by the generator.

Interstate makes good batteries. Most people have a 'favorite' battery that may or may not be based on quality. Don't go cheap, though. Keep them charged.

Here's a hint - in most cases, when your MH is plugged into 120v "shore" power, your house batts are usually kept charged by your converter, but NOT your starting battery. You can buy a cheap diverter for about $20 that steals a little bit of the juice going into your house batteries, and keeps your engine battery charged up at the same time. Highly recommended. BestConverters.com, look for "trick-L start" or something like that.

THANK YOU Jim! I appreciate the input and tips on the diverter!
