Talking to General RV about a Tiffin Breeze, very good deal. Any problems with them, or any bad reports???

It's 90 miles to the closest General location for me, I'd keep a list and make the trek for parts every now and then. I ordered a brown couch, when it came in they called and I made the drive in the snow. Got there and it was blue, big letters on the box BLUE!!

I asked why they had called, the woman said she didn't think I would notice. You can't make this stuff up. Never went back.

Like was said, it's a big outfit, there's probably a lot of turnover, experiences will change with time.

The Canton store really wanted me to buy their last AR-One they had had for some time. I did really like it, but they balked when I asked to look at a couple other models. When I went to do financing, my payment was suddenly $40 a month more than what we had discussed,AFTER he had supposedly talked to the bank and told me the original payment. He said the bank had made the mistake. Finally, I had an agreement that they would keep the trailer for a month and that they would put a temp tag on it when I come to get it. Called twice to confirm when I was getting it. I get there, hitch up and see it has no tag. I was told "sorry, we mailed you title out yesterday, you can't get a tag for it now." I was then told that I could haul it the 20 miles without a tag and I'd be ok.Wasn't going to try that! Luckily I had a dealer plate with me. I should have walked from the deal, but their pricing was just too good even with the hassles. I'll just never set foot in there store again.

We bought a Diesel MH from General in Canton, Ohio in 2010. Their price was good but that was it. Everything else was terrible. I would not go near there.

Over the years I've bought 6 motorhomes and my first 4 where from General. The shops in Michigan are really good. If you do buy from them the service department gives you "priority" if any repairs need to be done. I felt I got good pricing from them and whenever I took it in for service I was satisfied with the repair and the cost.

We bought our Bounder from General at the Illinois store. We were very happy with our experience and would buy from them again. The service work we had done there was good without any hassles.

We have bought one from the Wixom location and the last from the Wayland location and also Larry Klunder. We have had all kinds of RVs since 1969 so this is not our first. The 2 from General RV were the smoothest we have ever had. Service was also great at both. Since I live a mile from Holland Motor Homes that is where I go for all my service. Holland is also great but they don't have anything in my price range. Their service dept is great though.

Bought our current motor home last year from the Wayland location. It was a very p;leasant buying experience. Salesperson was Larry Klunder who treated us very well, and no high pressure. He answered all our questions and was very patient working with us.

We were also very pleased with their service area. There were several areas that we had them attend to and all was done quickly and accurately. I also like that they have drive in service. No appointment needed for taking care of the small stuff. Just drive in and they will take care of you. We had one item that needed to have parts ordered. As soon as the parts were in they called us. Drove up the next morning and was taken care of immediatly, no waiting.

I haven't had good luck with them. Nor has my best friend. I live in southern Mic Mich. and got better deals on two MH's in IN. Their labor rate is also $20.00/hour higher than some dealers in IN.

We bought our Tiffin RED from General RV in Wayland and would shop there again.
Our salesman Floyd broke the mold as he was pleasant to deal with and extremely knowledgeable about MHs.

The business manager we were stuck with for paper signing was a PIA with all the extra stuff he tried to sell us and did not like being told NO. That was the only negative to the purchase.

This is the first that I have heard of this issue so it is something to be careful of..... Are you saying that the policy was for an amount less than the remaining principle?

With any business, the bigger the business the more "mixed" the reviews will be. And if I'm not mistaken General is the largest dealer in Michigan.

Thus you will find folk who swear by them and at them.. And a few like me.

I do neither. I feel I got a good deal on the RV but I will warn you.

I bought my RV on time, I also got Joint Credit life... The catch is they sold me short on that policy,,, IT paid about 10% of what it should have when my wife died.. So I do feel ripped off.

I am, however, dealing with it on another level.

In 2011 I purchased a new Winnebago from the one in Canton, Ohio. Except for the pricing, there is nothing good I can say about them, nothing.
