Just changed the oil in my 7500 Quiet Diesel. It has 24889 hours on it. We've owned it since new....still running strong. I have a small oil leak I need to fix, but beyond that it still runs both a/c's with no problem or the micro and 1 a/c just like it always has.
Jeepers, that's 2000 hrs a year, or 5.5 hours a day, every day, for 12 years!
And probably what, $30,000 worth of fuel?

We use the coach in our ministry and business. It's never been winterized. The coach has 332K miles on it. - Snowman9000Explorer

Even being an Onan product and with consideration of the coach model year is it possible it is a propane generator? Either way, propane and diesel, with proper care and feeding during those hours it should still have plenty of service life remaining.
I'm looking at a 2000 model Fleetwood with a onan 7.5 diesel generator with 7500 hrs on it How many hrs are they good for?
What I really wish have an time meter is the fridge. Give a prospective owner a better idea of actual use of the house side of a coach. - usersmanualExplorer

All depends on how it was taken care of. Oil is KEY, but air filters and spark do matter. If oil was changed routinely, generators can go way more than 5200 hours. It's almost all in the maintenance.
Does it start right up, smoke, or any clicking? Check it out! If you inspect you can also get a compression tester on it (1 spark plug?)
its a diesel it has no spark plugs - usersmanualExplorer

Are you sure it's not 750 point 0 instead of 7,500?
To put it in perspective, you would have to run it 24 / 7 for 10.5 months to accumulate that many hours on it.
Opps it has 5200 I just looked at the ad, sorry.

- wvabeerExplorerThanks for the replies that's just one more item I won't worry about.
- Mr_Mark1ExplorerI, too, think the hours are not a big deal if the unit was maintained. If they can't show proof, work it into the price for a repair or replacement.
A guy next to me at a rally (older Liberty Coach) had 8,000 hours on his generator and it was purring like a kitten. They love to run!
Safe travels,
MM. - doxiemom11Explorer IISounds like they may have boondocked a little bit. Nothing wrong with that. I have always heard it is better for a generator to be used than to sit idle for long periods.
