I have been a member with GS for 14 years or so only had to call once for a rear inside dual blowout. Turned out there was a tire shop at the next exit about 1/4 mile away. So instead of towing us we drove it there.A state trooper had also stoped to see if we were ok and gave us a escort to the ramp. So now it is renewall time I have read all the posts over the years and CN seems to be the preferred in roadside assistance. The thing that pi$$ed me off is that for a new GS member to join its $89 and for me or someone that is a returning loyal customer it's $112 per year. I now have CN for 3 years at $233 and hope in never have to use them.

Well Good Sam worked out for you. I'd call them and tell them CN's price and ask if they'd match it. Tell them your concerns.

Good way to save $103.After the 3 years check out Allstate RV help for a low new member price.

Judging by the comments on this chat board, I'd say you made the right decision.

One of the biggest advantages that I see with CN is that you can call and actually talk to a tech which may be able to talk you through repairing your problem yourself. Naturally you do not have to do that but if it is something simple, with either the house or the chassis, it may allow you to get back to enjoying your trip sooner.

I also was a Good Sam ERS member for a number of years but left them after reading all the negative posts. I called Coach Net directly and got a good deal for 3 years. It was a lot cheaper than buying it on-line. And, they are very easy to work with.

Happy CN user here. Always had quick, correct service. GS can and does it right sometimes..................

I agree that the tech assistance 24x7 with CN is one of the best parts of the coverage. They have called and gotten me appointments for repair while I was en route. Not sure if they still do this but was sweet so simply followed their directions to the shop instead of trying to figure out where to go!

Our first GS experience was to make a call on a Sunday morning early. Help arrived in less than an hour and we were on our way. That was on a busy section of I-95.

Another time, in a campground located in a much more isolated area, they could not locate anyone available right away. We eventually did ourselves by chance with a lot of local input.

I think whoever you use, whatever you pay, you can't expect instant solutions in certain situations, but it's nice when you do get it.

it's not unusual, in fact it's common, for businesses to offer a discounted price to new members. the cable and sat. tv operators do this all the time. we've had GS since 1986 and have used the service maybe 6-8 times. we keep renewing with GS and that must say something. what it says to us is if it ain't broke, don't fix it. (no pun intended....ok, ok, it was intended) :)

I HAD Good Sam. First impressions are everything.

They seemed to not have a sense of urgency to find a tow place when I was broke down by a traffic light. After two hours, the police who was waiting with me called for a tow and it was there within minutes.

I had to go through the process of sending Good Sam the bill and them reimbursing. I have now been with Coach Net six years and they have been AWESOME.
