While the above route answers your question, if you have the time I would suggest going to the North Rim and Zion/Bryce and then I-70 east to 191 and then the 30 miles south to Moab. To me it's a much more interesting route although it's 200 miles further but not as many miles of desolate desert.
This route will be allowing you to also see many State Parks along the route (Goblins - Kodachrome - Capital Reef NP - Escalante and Rt 12 Hog back, just to mention a few) Having driven this route a few, but not nearly enough, it has NEVER been anything but a Blast.
When in Moab be sure to drive Rt 128 IMHO, it is as Beautiful drive as any Park and normally not very crowded.
Dinosaur NM and Flaming Gorge should also be on your Route, along with Wind Canyon if possible, once you get out in this area the DRIVE can be as GOOD as the final destination.
IVY, can likely suggest some great boondocking areas too.
