- SablukaExplorerAFAIAK CF is a scam.
We bhght a used Rav 4. CF had the mileage way off and didnt even report a rollover the vehicle had.
Save your money. Those places are worthless.
You can find out much more yourself and be more accurate.
Get the make model yr and VIN and talk to the dealer.
Rick - trnflaExplorerI do not believe many if any RV shops report to CarFax. Plus I know first hand that if the body shop does not report the repairs it will not show up on Carfax. My car had $14K worth of damage and when I traded it in I told the salesman and he pulled the carfax and said it was clear and gave me a better trade in price.

You all are welcome to your opinions about CarFax but my question was about whether or not it was available on a class C. I have found it useful on previous car purchases especially in discovering a title trail.
According to the Carfax.com website, they do not have information on RV's, motorcycles or cars built before 1981. I suppose you could plug in the VIN number and see if it would take it as a "truck". No harm done but probably won't work. - ol__yellerExplorer IIYou all are welcome to your opinions about CarFax but my question was about whether or not it was available on a class C. - jdogExplorerCarFact is MS and BS which equalls a PHD. More of the same stinky stuff piled higher and deeper. It is just a gimmick to sell cars, a useless one at that! The salsmen could care less if it has correct info.
- jdogExplorerCarfact Issue here!
- midnightsadieExplorer IItake the vin number to the dealer ford or chevy dodge they can run the number and tell you whats been done. did this on a sprinter and it told me things carfax ddn,t.
- n7bsnExplorerThe last time we bought used, the dealer used AutoCheck, saying it was more accurate and had more details then CarFax
- rockhillmanorExplorerIf you live in a state where emissions are required on an RV some info will show up on CarFax. That's were you will find mileage discrepancies and if the RV had problems passing the emissions. THEY report to Carfax.
No emission testing on RV you won't see anything other than a major accident or total, IF it was reported. AND no one is 'required' to report to CarFax.
So it's NOT an end all be all about a vehicle. I pull them just to see by chance something was reported, but I don't get excited about buying it by any means if nothing shows up! - HondavalkExplorer II

Keep in mind CarFax is only good if the repairs or accidents were reported to carfax. This disclaimer appears on the CarFax website and in very small print on their ads.
When I was looking for a new tow vehicle I found a perfect truck...just what I wanted. The salesman whipped out the carfax and handed it to me. It showed no accidents, no major repairs only normal maintenance. Plus the truck was a certified Chevrolet used car/truck, which means it should have gone through an inspection process.
When I drove the truck it pulled hard to the right and there was a loud clunking noise from the right anytime we hit a bump. It sounded like a shock was loose.
As I looked over the right front I could tell it had been in a bad accident but repaired very well. There were tale-tell signs plus the alignment/steering issue and banging, couldn't find the source.
I walked away, the salesman kept saying that the CarFax was clear.
Don't trust CarFax alone...have the MH inspected by a good mechanic with RV experience.
Watched a dateline or 48 hours show and car fax was so unreliable that it appears to be just a waste of good paper.
