well I do have one question. we will have a dog on our travels was wandering if there is any thing that needs to be done for crossing the border into Canada?

I pray that everything comes out and works out great with the transplant. I am new to this forum and have asked a few questions with amazing results. I can tell you that the folks here are wonderful, they don't make you feel like your question is.....questionable or dumb. The information that I have received so far has been great and I will continue to listen to the advice I receive.

One suggestion. If you can, "camp" in your driveway or a very close campground for a few days, it will help you figure out what doesn't work, leaks, what you forgot or need to buy. It will also give you an opportunity to find out about the "idiosyncrasies" of your particular unit. Better to find out close to home than a few hundred miles down the road.

Hi PatLarry and the Burwoods (along with the veterans of the board). We are waiting for delivery of our first class A too. 2005 Holiday Rambler Admiral. The dealer is putting a new carb on the gennie. I'm already planning trips! Our first trip will be about 20 miles from the dealer at a state park for a shakedown. Then a couple more local trips and then head down into the Florida Keys. We're in the Tampa Bay area so will spend most of our time exploring state parks and beaches for a while, but then we would like to make the grand tour of the west. Happy RV'ing and stay safe.

May have already done this but before the trip have vehicle serviced (oil, lube, brakes, filters, etc), check tire dates to make sure they are not 9 year old tires (replace if original tires). On travel days, check fluid levels and tire pressure before starting out. On the air manifold that feeds the air horns install a compressed air outlet and purchase an air hose so you can top off your tires with the on board air compressor. If you have a smart phone, there are free apps for truck stops, fuel locations and rest areas. Plan ahead for fuel and use google earth street view to check ease of entry and exit of fuel stations. There are also apps for campgrounds and rvparkreviews.com to check potential stops along the way.

We are new also, waiting on delivery of our first and only Class A. My advice, and I am going to take my own advice. Don't over complicate things, the simpliest option and the first thought you had is more then likely the right one. Just remember to enjoy it all, the good and the bad, is our plan.
