Help Identify this Class A (Criminal Case)

I am doing a favor for local law enforcement which just put a local heroin/meth dealer and thief in jail awaiting trial. He was living in this class A RV. All identification has been removed from it. No manufacturer ID, no plates, VINs removed, etc. I offered to try and crowd source an identification to make their investigation easier. The reward for correctly IDing the RV is the satisfaction of possible ADDING to what he has been charged with. Thanks and here we go:

Again, what is that going to do? If there are no identifying marks on the RV, then that in itself is enough for it to be impounded. Having it sit on a private lot is doing nothing to protect a potential stolen RV. If it's not stolen, then what does it matter what the make is?

The OKC Bombing in 1995 was an ammonia nitrate bomb inside of a rented Ryder truck. The truck was totally destroyed, very few parts were found, but they did find a piece of the rear axle about four blocks from the bombing. The axle had an identifying mark, and the truck was traced to a rental agency in Kansas, and then traced to Timothy McVey and others.
I use this example to show that the authorities can find out where the MH was made, who sold it new, etc......

But I do find some of the naysayers who post here who basically are calling the OP less than honest, to be posting in poor taste.

If you read his original post; he just wanted to know if anyone knew the brand and year of the MH.

IMO a few of you are overly suspicious.. :h

The OP appears to be a contributing member of the forum since 2002..
I really can't see how the info he was asking help with, could make some of you jump on him so quickly.

I wasn't there, but I can almost imagine something like.
(Police guy talking) We really are short handed right now but since this RV has been striped of all name/brand decals, plates, VINs, if you could help us figure the year, model, we could run a search for reported stolen like that. Could possibly cut a few weeks out here cause we can't get a ID guy on this for a while?

Possible scenario?

To the OP.
Since you now have an answer to your request, good luck with your quest here.

Many years ago we had the police come to us at work over a stolen outboard motor. We were asked a few questions since the motor had been sold at our store and our parts girl solved the crime within about 2 weeks. The guy (crook) who we knew; came looking for a certain # key which just happened to be the # of the stolen motor.
So the police do request help sometimes guys...

Mayby more folks should do their part to help sometimes?

He is currently in the KC jail on 20 grand bail awaiting trial. I wouldn't mind further charges and that number going up. I have zero interest in a crappy old class A beyond keeping the last occupant in prison for as long as possible. He's been in and out a bunch of times and he returns to his mom's place (the property in question) and starts over. This is the big chance to keep him in a while and the cops are looking for all the help they can get from the citizenry to make that happen. Get involved. Neighborhood security is a team sport. As far as me fearing retribution from the property owner, she has bigger problems with the county as they will be serving her abatement paperwork due to her kid's activities there.

Fellow KC tax payer here....We had about the same problem with druggie neighbors. Cops would come over and within a month they were out of jail doing drugs again.

Then after about 2 years KC board of health got involved...placed was closed down in about 1 month. No more problems. If we'd known about that angle would of saved everybody a lot of headaches.

Do you know about http://ingress.kingcounty.gov/inmatelookup/ for looking them up in KC? Our old druggie neighbors had to move when their house was shut down. Maybe your new neighbors?

I'm aware of it. I keep track of our local miscreants that way. The guy that hit me has been in 6 times since I was burglarized. It was me crowdsourcing info on FB that led to him being picked up and me getting my log splitter back. Cops admired my detective work.

Why do the police need to know the make and model of this RV? Is it only stolen if it's a Winnebago?

:B

Is that picture from the police department for distribution? Or did you sneak over into the neighbor's yard and take the picture!?!

Cops e-mailed it to me.

I am not an expert on vehicle Identification but I worked with several

As others have said, All the PD needs to do is send out their hidden vin man..If they do not have one they can call the state police of assistance.

There are several serial numbers stamped into assorted parts..Then there are Engine and Transmission numbers..Some of which require a mechanic and a hoist to find... These contain the most significant portions of the VIN..From these (The Serial portion) a skilled investigator can often build the entire VIN (I do know how to do that but no longer have the tools).

This is how I would ID the ride.

Too many inconsistencies.....The minute it's discovered that the VIN has been altered or removed, it's towable. Second, a hidden VIN is exactly that. Even if it's found, you typically have to remove a major body part to access it with a grinder. Third, the engine computer has the VIN listed electronically. Lastly, the engine has an identifiable number. I know nothing about the OP, but none of this makes sense.
