Help! Onan 4K generator refuses to start and stay on

Here I go again. Am at home now and I tried the generator again. It started, but only for about 15 seconds and then shut down. During this short time it ran rough and the exhaust blew constant blue sm...

If you can get to the fuel pump add a switch to it and when you are not going to run the generator for a while, start it let it warm up then turn the fuel pump off and let it run out of gas, which completely empties the carburetor so there is nothing in it to gum up.
