How are the walls built in a 79 Itasca?

I'm going to have to gut, and totally redo the inside of my
1979 Itasca 26 footer. Nothing inside works. Tried to turn the lights
And got smoke. So I'm going to have to rewire this. The stove is a bomb. I knew this coach had a few problems. But...
Anyone know how the outside walls are built? They seem to be like
Solid? Was looking for a framing member but can't find any.
Also looking to get the generator started.

Oh, yeah....what ever happened with the insurance thing?

It looks like the prior thread got closed.

Sounds like that RV is more trouble than it is worth, if it is the same RV.

Best of luck whatever you do.l
  • I was thinking it had to be something like that
I might just scrap it. Needs too much love
  • They are vacuum bonded walls. They have aluminum framing and metal backing for things that may be mounted to the walls and foam insulation. You cannot get inside the wall lIke in a house or motor home with "hung"wall construction which more resembles a house construction.
