We actually started ours before we sold our house. I documented the purge process and the actual sale.
We used blogger.com. It's very easy. You can add pictures, maps, links, videos....whatever you like.
You can make it private or public. I like it because I like to be able to refresh my memory on certain things...or settle a disagreement on something. haha
It's very easy. Start now, give it a try with a temporary blog to test it out and then if you like it start a real blog for your travels.
I use blogger, but I post to my blogs thru Open Live Writer. You can write thru Live Writer without internet and post blog when you have internet.
