I'm in the same boat you are for parts. '79 with a 440. Much like the lite ut suv I used to have. A '94 jimmy with a 4.3ltr Vortec. All computers and books said the Vortec wasn't available until '95 when they changed the body style.
Anyway... if you find a source for the running boards, post it. :) I'm curious to see pics of the inside, the window set up on yours looks almost identical to mine, I wonder if we have the same floor plan.
I'm looking for a couple other things if anyone can help...
1) The plastic "basket" that goes on the very end of the speedometer cable and "snaps" onto the back of the speedometer. Mine's cracked and I need a replacement.
2) Someone here mentioned a source for R-12 for these older AC systems. I'm hoping to not be too lazy in just asking rather searching through 60 pages of this thread. :)
