how much can I tow

I have a 2011 forest river sunseeker E-350 32' motor home.

I have read all the info and am still confused. Can I tow a 5,000 lb Jeep with all 4 tires on the ground?

It is a 6.8L v10 engine
  • What do you weigh sans jeep? What is u our GCWR?
Therein lies your answer and no one can tell you yes or no for certain
  • The first things to consider are GVWR and GCWR - those should be quite easy to find. Something doesn't look right in the description of your motor home. Do you have an E350 or an E450 ? Is it 32' long or perhaps 23' long ? E350 and 32' isn't a normal combination.
  • Did you look in your owners manual? Mine has it clearly spelled out. Max. tongue weight and max. straight pull weight. In my case 350# and 4,000#.
Your manual may well have the info. you're looking for.

  • Do you have any stickers from the manufacturer or paper work/owners manual telling you what the GCWR is for your motor home. The GVWR for your MH is 14,500, which is the same as the new Sunseekers that have a 22,000 GCWR,so theoretically they can tow 7,5000. Of course they probably have a 5,000# hitch.Your GCWR could be different. If you have a hitch it's probably a 5,000# hitch which your jeep would probably exceed, although I'm pretty sure a 5,000# hitch can handle a 5,000# or so jeep. .
What have you been reading ? :h
  • Sure it will tow it...but...do you want to know if it will tow it SAFELY..? If so, we need more info. Check the stickers near the drivers seat....GVWR and GCWR and lots more info there. Post these figures and you'll get better answers....Dennis
