How much would you pay for this rv?

Hi everyone, Went and saw another rv yesterday. It looks decent. The problems were that the weather stripping on most of the windows was pulling away from the window. The tires are original and need to be replaced, and it needs to be re caulked. Also there was some mold under the front cab over bunk mattress and mold under the master bed mattress. I'm thinking the water got in through the bad weather stripping and was made worse by the florida heat and humidity. I could find no examples of leaks through the walls or ceilings.

I looked up the vehicle on nada and rv trader. The prices are all over the place and since it's diesel there aren't a lot of units to compare it to. I'm hoping some of you knowledge folks would weigh in on what you perceive it's value to be.

    Also have to mention that its a 2004 ford diesel. Which it probably has the 6.0 motor. It wasn't fords best diesel. Can be made bullet proof but for big $$$. If its on a 2002 1/2 chassis with the 7.3 that's a different animal.

    The mold probably formed from the water saturated wood and materials, leaking from where ever?

    Mold is never good. There HAS been water intrusion. If you can see the mold, just imagine how much you can't see. Water & mold = damage & rot. I know...I have a 30 foot travel trailer that started out with a little mold and now the entire unit is UN-inhabitable and subsequently UN-sellable. RUN!!!

    I would not buy an RV knowing that it has had water damage. I can't believe they would even sell a RV that still had mold present. At least clean it up. That and the fact that they don't advertise the price are two big red flags.

    We joined this forum in 2010, I do not suggest that you take as long as we did, but we had no idea what we even wanted. When we settled on a Class A it was about a year and half ago. We just bought a couple weeks ago. There is so much out there to purchase, keep looking. Mold and the damp smells that may be in there would be something I would not want to deal with. Not even thinking about what could be found behind walls, and fixing whatever was the cause.

    The first red flag for me is the, 'Call for Price'.

    The mold would be a deal breaker.

    Keep looking, there are a lot of RV's for sale.

    I would be concerned about the mold. The only way to get rid of it permanently is to replace "all" structure with mold. You know there is water damage but where did it originate? If the weather stripping is pulling away then water has probably got in. You may not feel or see the damage yet but you have no idea what is lurking behind the walls. Mold is toxic and spreads.

    We would suggest you walk away from this deal unless you are willing to take a chance on possibly spending a lot of cash for repairs.
