how Much?

How much do you normally pay to have your oil and filter changed in an F-53 gasser and where do you normally have it done?
  • Just curious, is anyone including lubing the chassis in this discussion or just oil and filter? I do my own and I know the chassis lube is the worst part.

I buy motorcraft synthetic blend $17 / gal and a motorcraft oil filter ($5) at wally world :W
  • As others have mentioned, I also do my own and I thing the $65 is very reasonable. BUT, don't forget to lube job. I also do this everytime I change the oil. This is ALWAYS done prior to putting the coach away for the season.
  • $65 would be a good price for full synthetic with filter and anywhere that has a parking lot large enough to maneuver the coach into their bay should be able to do it.

I can not stress however how incredibly easy it is to change the oil and filter on a gas motor home yourself.

  • I do my own oil changes and it costs around $35 and takes 30 minutes of time. If you pay someone to do it, I would think $65 would be a fair price.
  • My F53 is the older 360ci V8. I use Mobil-1 and replace it, and the filter, myself every spring. I average 3500 miles per year on the rig.
  • I have my motor oil changed at a local shop in Port Orchard, Washington State. I'm charged $65.00 plus tax by this shop, and the motor oil change is for 5W-30W Synthetic Oil. I change motor oil once a year or every 7,500 miles, since I bought my coach new 10 years ago.
