How to figure an offer for used coach?

I have been checking out a local RV for sale near me by a dealer. I haven't done any figures with them as I am still trying to decide if I want to or not.

It is a 2007 HR and the asking price has dropped twice in 6 months. It started at $189,000 6 months ago, dropped to $169000, and then to $149000. Now they are down to $139000. It is below book value according to NADA.

I can't seem to come to a conclusion what its really worth, or do I just throw a number at them and go from there? I have a trade but they don't know that either.

They don't sell big Motorhomes so want it gone they say.

    Hit rvt.com and rvtrader.com and search for the make model and year (I would have done it for you if you had included the model)

    The prices on these sites are all high- dreamer prices - so subtract at least 10% from the average.

    Then hit search all craigs list and find the ones for sale on CL. These are also high by 10-15%.

    This will give you a good starting point.

    Is it owned by them or sitting there on consignment?
    Obviously you have nothing to lose by throwing out a low figure but you may want to try to find out why no one else has bought it. Perhaps there is something negative that a previous buyer noticed that you haven't.
    Remember if you offer them a low figure, they will do the same with your trade. Also in Florida you pay sales tax on the difference if you trade. You pay the full amount without a trade so do the math first.

    HR made a lot of models in 07, which one you looking at? Next you need to figure in how well it was kept up. Are there service records available? Have the tires been replaced or are they the originals? Six new tires are a high ticket item. All of these things weigh heavily on the value.

    What model exactly? Just bought an 09 for significantly less than that....

    If it's the one with 90080 miles the price is now $139K. Nice well equipped unit. I'd jump on it and see what kind of trade value they will give you... $40K. With retirement still 2.5 years away... are you sure you need to do this now as the Beaver will be worth $35K then and the HR will be down to $100K.

    Thanks for all the advice. I am retired on disability already so retirement doesn't come into play. Ivylog, yes it is that one. I have been looking at it a while as I know there are a lot of them around in that range of price and size. I guess I am trying to figure if I should wait till I do go full time in two more years. I am going to sell the house then and will have no mortgage or any bills as far as that goes. Its not as if I have to trade now, the Beaver is pristine...actually been getting some minor things done at CAT for the last 2 months.

    I bought a HR last year and it is by far the best MH I have ever owned. Far and above the very best of all of them and I have owned lots of MH's. Two to be exact.
