How to tell size of AC?

I want to replace the front AC on my Pace Arrow. The motor is making a noise and needs help to start sometimes. I know I could just replace the motor, but due to the age of the unit I figure a new one would be quieter and more efficient.

All of the markings are worn off the labels on it.

It is a Coleman Mach unit. It is a ducted system.

I need to know if it is a 15000 btu or 13000 btu.

Does anyone know how I can determine the size?

Also, where is the cheapest place to buy a replacement?

    I'd never buy a used one, 'course that's just my two cents. Also, stick with Coleman or Dometic. Much better access to parts and service since they've both been in the RV AC business forever.

    If you change the brand, or possibly even the model, from what you have now, be prepared to also replace the ceiling unit inside the coach.

    the motor in my coleman needed help to get going also bought a new motor for 135 dollars it was an easy install works fine now :)

    I wouldn't worry about the size, just replace with a 15,000 unit and you'll be in good shape. You might try the RV salvage stores, Craigslist or ebay. Look for one that's less than five years old and it will probably last as long as you have the coach.

    Have you taken the to cover off and looked inside?? There might be a spec plate there.

    When I got my new trailer there was a very large folder with every 120VAC and 12VDC appliance installed in the trailer by the manufacturer. The water heater, the converter, the refridge, the microwave, the air conditioner etc.... Have you found this set of folders yet...

    My very large folder was sitting next to the hot water heater in one trailer and inside a cabinet in my other new trailer...

    This was different then the sales paperwork...

    I looked through the paper work but could not find the info on the AC.

    By any chance, do you have all the documentation that came with the Pace Arrow? I have an old folder with all the owner's manuals and I was able to find the model I had by looking at the sheet.

    BTW, I don't want to muddy the water any more, but a quick check indicates coleman also had a 13,500 unit.

    For the cost difference get the 15K BTU unit. it really makes no difference except a slight increase in amperage draw. But if the unit is that old a new one will be more efficient and probably draw less power anyhow.
