Huntsville - Space Center
Need "Best" RV site as close as possible during first week of July for 40' motorhome. Any suggestions?

- First week of July os going to be tough. Can you say 4th of JULY. You will have to call around. Monte Santo, Decatur has a city park Point Mallard. Joe Wheeler state park to name a few. Good luck. Those folks in Alabama use their campgrounds:B Larry
- Probably Joe Wheeler is the nicest. There are two CGs in Athens (North of Decatur on I65 ~20 minute easy drive to space center), but they are VERY plain. Basically open lots with utilities. Nothing to see/do. The Space Center has truck/bus parking, but I don't think any RV sites.
- Last time we were there we stayed at NASA RV park at the space center. Can't get any closer. http://www.spacecamp.com/travel/rvpark
- If you are active or retired DoD, Redstone Arsenal has RV sites.
- its been a long time, but we stayed in RV park at space center... it sure was convenient. don't remember many amenities other that full hookups and a large field just behind our campsite that the kids could run around in.
