When I first started reading on this forum 10 years ago delamination seemed to be a big problem with the MH's manufactured before 2000. I don't see many posts about newer MH's and delaminations. I have not seen any data on new materials being used other than some thermoplastic materials like Azdel for Lance campers, or new bonding processes other than pinch rolling or vacuum bonding. When I visit MFG web sites I see marketing terms rather than engineering descriptions of materials and processes used. Does any one know what improvements have been made if any to the side walls of the newer MH's in materials and processes? I also learned that Newmar and some Monaco's uses the hung wall process that can not delaminate (no laminates to begin with), are there others Mfg's that use this process?

Newmar and Entegra have very similar hung wall construction.

I guess that by eliminating the luan wood, this would eliminate the water that would be absorbed into the wood right at the bond line. That sounds like an improvement.

Thanks Mark, I am familiar with the Newmar, and Monaco having struggled with delam on a 96 MH I don't want to go through that again. This would be the main reason to choose a hung wall over a bonded wall especially if one could not quantify improvements made to the bonded walls.

Lou, I did not mean to sound critical. But I was just surprised that that with over 360 views no one had any insight as to what improvements were made on sidewall construction if any on newer MH's.

My bad........I'm typically not so cranky, probably a bit on edge today with all the snow. I always enjoy it in the winter, but not all in one storm (24" and the drifts were in excess of 3' over here in Moodus).

They also said they had better adhesives. They were still using a pinch roller process from what I saw.
