Jumped ship

Letting go of my 30 foot Jamboree by Fleetwood. Now a New to me 34 & 1/4 triple slid unit Gerogetown. Got it in Fla. Drove it back to east TN towing my Saturn. The newer type V10 with there extra 60 Hp is a big difference or the V10 C Class I have in my Driveway. Was ,impressed with toad on it got 9.5 MPG being new to a larger front end it be leave it was that reason when I feel conferable I bet my foot will do me in LOL. But the funny of the trip back my wife look like a bug on my windshield saying your alfull close to that or this Tires on my C had 16 inch this has 22.5 when this needs them $$$$$$. I will need to change picture
  • Best of luck with new RV and mileage sounds great but you are right, once your foot gets a little heavier then the MPG will go down but we know that and enjoy. IF one cannot afford the gas or diesel, not a good idea to buy a big Class A. We just bought a 2003 Newmar and expect 8mpg but know it could be less, HOPE not but...
  • We had a a 32' Georgetown (2002) with the V-10 and the older 4-speed auto trans. Our typical load was me, DW and two Labradors. Our trips were rarely over two weeks away from home and all in WA and OR.

It was a "one-owner from new" when we bought in 2010, with just under 12,000 miles on the clock. We put another 6000 miles on it and averaged just under 8 mpg, based on gas receipts and odometer readings. When we realised we were dipping into our IRA to pay for the hobby, we decided to quit after 3 seasons.
  • As far as MPG that what unit says plugged into to the plug which looks for codes. But remember I was never in a rush and was a little scare of unit and hardly stepped on gas peddle trip took a lot longer and I am sure when I can feel comfortable it won't get it either because I like to get were I'm going sooner then latter.
  • 9.5 MPG. Well glad for you, but Im having a hard time believing that one
  • When you get a chance go over to Forest Rivers Owners forums and sign up there. You will find a section on the Georgetown units. Also check out (FROG) Forest Rivers Owners Group.
  • Congratulations on the new rig. You'll enjoy that extra room. My uncle has a 2005 Georgetown that he bought new. It's been a good rig with very few problems.
  • I see you are from Dandridge! Anchor Down is one of our favorite places...
