lemme introduce myself : all the way from Darkest Afrika
Hi - I have "camper-vanned on and off most of my life and now own a catamaran in the Mediterranean. But wanted to return to land bound exploration ;)
So I found a derelect Minnie-Winnie that had been hacked and then left.
The conversion from LHD to RHD was done when they removed the front end including the firewall and replaced it all with a Mercedes 313CDI front end. The front dash is now all Sprinter as well.
The basic body is quite good , approx 85000 km ? (who cares) and the interior is a mess requiring a complete re-fit.
I have visitors from USA arriving April next year and we will be going to Afrika-Burn - our version of your Burningman and from there heading north to "see the sights".
I am having difficulty getting it legal and back on the road , but am sure it will all happen in due course...
So far , I have done very littlke - am just waiting for the paperwork to register me as the owner, after that it will be 2 months of hard slog...
