Looking for Powertrain only! Extended warranty.

I prefer to do the majority of work on my Coach and don't mind paying out of pocket for parts etc. The extended warranty on my Coach just expired. I was quoted $9200 for a four year warranty from Wholesale Warranty. Too much money to cover things that I can repair for a fraction of the cost.

My question is this: does anyway have, or know of, a warranty company that does Powertrain only? Just trying to cover the "big ticket" items that could break the bank should there be an issue.

Thanks
Scott

Have you called Good Sam ESP? I believe they have those type of policies?

  • Remember that whoever you get to cover your drive train under warranty, they will want some type of verification that scheduled maintenance was performed. They may not accept your assurance that the proper items were attended to on a timely fashion like a certified shop would provide with an invoice and worksheet.
I am sure that you probably do the work better than most shops, which is why I do my own service, but I am just saying you need to make sure that whoever you get for an extended warranty understands that YOU do the scheduled service. You may want to get it in writing if they will allow it.

Completely agree! And to clarify, I still take my Coach in for Speedco Oil/ Filter Fuel/Filter changes. Also, any other engine/tranny repairs, so I do have those receipts and would be in compliance with those types of issues. But you're correct in that this would always be a sticking point in any warranty such as this.
  • According to my Finance/ESC manager, they no longer offer drivetrain ONLY policies. All or nothing. Doug
