Maiden Voyage in our HR Admiral

This weekend was our very first trip in our new MH. WE drove it about 130 miles each way to and from the beach. What a difference between this one and the last one. Our last one was very loud, had a ton of creaks and was hot as heck to drive. It was the only MH we ever had so we thought that was the normal.

Then we drove this one. You can barley hear the motor run, there are very few creeks and the AC actually works. We hit a 29 mile traffic jam (yes you read that right, 29 miles!!) and the new rig was flawless. It ran smooth and cool.

When we pulled into the campground and went to set up the leveling jacks did not work. :( I was able to look them up on line and reset them. After that they worked fine. With the push of 3 buttons all of our slides were open (no slides or jacks in the last MH) and we were living large.

One of the things we like to do is walk around and get RV envy. So we walked around checking out "how the rich people live". WE were only able to find one rig that we liked better than ours. It was a brand new Entegra Coach. The two things I took away from that was 1: I may never be able to afford something like that and 2: We picked the right MH for us.

All in all it was a very successful trip and we look forward to the next one in a few weeks.
  • Hi, Guys-

Glad your first trip in your new Admiral was such a success. Congrats on the new coach!

As for RV envy - there are no doubt a good number of folks who envy yours as they walk past.

May you have many happy and safe adventures.

  • Glad you had a great trip, Magilla! I'm sure, as GMandJM posted...there were plenty of folks that were in envy of YOUR rig!! I still walk around mine in the driveway and after setting up at the camp and wonder if I'm dreaming that I actually own one. Much less that it's 16 years old and still looks nicer than many in the campground around me.

Congrats and I hope for you many, many more safe and fun trips!!
  • What beach? I flew over Sandy Neck on Cape Cod Sunday and the motor homes were nose to tail for 2 miles.
  • Glad your weekend was great! Nothing better than a getaway without issues....

We like to look at the other RV's at the campgrounds too, then we come back to ours and think...well its old but still has the charm, and it's paid for!
  • I still get nervous driving through the toll booths. They seem so small when your in the MH.
  • Enjoy the new ride & tnx for coming to Maine.

My first trip solo is this weekend.
  • It is great that your first trip was a positive experience and you had fun.
