MAXX Air Covers

Hi everybody, our new motorhome is equipped with 2 Fantastic Fans (without the rain sensors) and 1 standard bathroom fan. The manual advises against Air Covers because they will restrict air flow and increase the amount of noise. We would like to install them anyway to provide some ventilation when the coach is stored and during rains. Has anyone used Air Covers for powered fans and have they worked out for you? Appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.

I have used the Max Air covers on my previous motorhomes. Always left vents open and never rained in. I saw the Fantastic vents and figured that they would work good. I am very disappointed in the Ultra Breeze covers by Fantastic Fan. I had the vents open and it rained in. They let lots of water in. The openings face to the rear where the Max Air openings are facing down. No problem if you are driving but if parked and the rain comes from the wrong direction be assured that with the Ultra Breeze covers you will have very wet floors.I think I am going to bite the bullet and throw them away and replace with Max Air's.

I was a RV tech, if that means anything to anybody, for almost 10 years. I'm now an owner. I have vent covers of one kind or another on all of my roof vents. Wouldn't have a roof vent without one.

I have the MaxxAir II's on mine and they work fine. But Fantastic Fan makes there own version now which claim to not restrict the flow.

In 4 rigs I think the max covers are better the rain sensor Ff. There is never a doubt your covered. If for some reason you loose power, the fan fan will not work.the max will.

The Maxxair products are a must have when it comes to vent covers, for the non fan vents the Maxx Air 2 or the standard ones are great, for getting air in when needed no matter the weather.

For the ones with a fan the one I use with no problems is the Fan Mate It opens for cleaning and does not restrict the air flow from my Fantastic Fan,I would highly recommend this cover for your Fantastic Fans.

Try putting maxxair in the search box and read on. I wouldn't be without them. The manual writer obviously has never had an RV at a site in the rain.

I highly recommend vent covers, but prefer the Aero-Flo by Camco to the MaxxAir.

MaxxAir must think they are better too, they came out with the MaxxAir II that has the benefits of the Aero-Flo. (hinged opening)

I really like them and would not be without them. I have 3 on my MH and 2 of them are power vents, no problem with restricted flow.

I've had the MaxxAir Fan mate on mine for years without any problems. Allows me to keep the cover open 24/365. The cover does not open all the way, but I've never had any air restriction problem. That's what they're designed for.

If you do not run the fan on high, the small ones are not going to restrict air flow. I silicone the small ones to my roof vents and after 10 years, recently replaced with smoke colored ones. Was a little surprised how much light they restricted compared to the white ones I replaced. Do not worry about the vent hitting them before all the way open as the high current from a stalled motor shuts the system off.

The manual is just following the standard CYA procedures that all companies use to protect themselves.

There are millions of RV running around out there with multiple vent covers on each one of them with no problems and many benefits.

After reading your post I looked and found three different MaxxAir covers. The standard is the smaller one and from there I see the MaxxAir 850 rain cover for high powered fans and the MaxxAir II larger vent vent cover. I'll do a little more research before I buy. Do you remember if you used one of these?
