Maybe transfer switch bad?

I just went through a similar situation and I believe it was because the house batteries were low, I had it away for 10 days getting service done. It made the EMS act goofy and read 30 instead of 50 amp at my rock solid house pedestal. ACs would not run etc.All is good now with full charge.

True, but not accurate. When my Intellitec is connected to 30a via an adapter I can run both ACs. When I was missing one leg because my 50a cord was hosed, the EMS still
showed 30 a on the panel but the 2nd (rear AC) would not work.
My thinking is that if you are plugged into 50a service improperly wired to two legs of the same phase, Inteelitec would show 30 and both ACs would work.

Please let us know what u find.

Have you verified that the shore power is 120/240 and not 120/120 neutral?

Doug, When zone 1 is selected, front air is on, when zone 2, rear on, same shore or genset, yes i do have propane genset. As an aside, when front air is on fan runs on rear air, and vice versa.

So you state when on Front air the compressor and fan runs and it cools but the rear only runs the fan and NO compressor and vice versa? If so, you must have the Intellitec EMS system that sheds the compressor ONLY IF the RV is on 30 amp service. But, on Gen set BOTH Fans and Compressors should operate. On 50 amp service, all 120 appliances will operate. Doug

I just wet thru this. You need to take the cover off the Transfer switch and verify U have 120 on both inputs. I thought I had a bad transfer switch or EMS and all it was was a bad connection in the plug. Measuring at the pedestal is not good enough.

Doug, The panel i'm referring to, is just above the passenger seat, it has the switch to open the slide and a couple of meters, shows the battery charge level.

When connected to the pedestal we did verify 2 120 volt circuts.

IF it does NOT say Intellitec on that display panel, That IS your Inverter/Charger display panel. BUT, that "30 amp" reading has NOTHING to do with WHAT and HOW you are connected to Shore Power. What that 30 amp reading is, it lets you choose what Shore Power you are ON to set the amount of 120AC amps the CHARGER section pulls in BULK(FAST) charge when you connect to Shore Power. On 50 amp you do not care that the charger will pull up to 11 amps on BULK charge. But if on 30 or 15 amp Shore power, you set it lower to free up extra amps. You are on 30 amp, you set the panel to 15 and the charger on BULK charge will pull no more than about 4 to 5 amps instead of 10 or 11. Doug

This is true, you need to check with a volt meter and see if it reads zero between the 120 volt lines.. It will also read 120 volt from each side to ground or neutral.. It should read 240 volt across the 120 volt lines if it is a true 50 amp circuit.. Mike Mathews..
