The OP stated that he was "seriously leaving California". If that's the case then he has a choice of any other state to call home. The popular states for full-timers are Texas, Florida and South Dakota, although you might want to look into South Dakota's medical insurance coverage for full-timers. If the OP plans on buying another house then that is the state he should check out for all costs involved. Good luck!
