I had the same issue with a side compartment on my TC, it was getting water in it when driving in the rain.
After taking a hard look at the sealing lip I discovered the door was not compressing the bulb seal all the way around, so I took a brass hammer and carefully banged the aluminum lip that the bulb seal was attached to, outward, so it contacted the door better. No more water in the compartment. Takes a little trial and error time but doable.
