No-no, not on ours or the OPs. Ours is a standard toilet over the tank in the forward bath that uses only a fraction of the water the rear macerator type does. If both of yours are the same type of toilets, then your right, it wouldn't make a difference.

Thanks again for the replies. We looked at the unit again yesterday and it appears the rear toilet is the one with the macerator. There were buttons on the wall to operate the toilet. The holding tanks are mid-coach, centered between basement storage. Great for load distribution. This post and another one we've followed on Chevy 8.1 vs. Ford V-10 helped with our decision to go with this unit. We pick it up in a week.

We have a fleetwood southwind with the two toilet set up, going into one black water tank, it does use the Vacu-flush, and macerator.

BTW it is a pain in the b=backside....... I have had to have it replaced 3 times

If you do a lot of boondocking or stay in campgrounds without a sewer connection, the macerator is a bit problematic because it does use a lot more water. In our old Holiday Rambler, we could get around 10 day on our black tank. The new Winnebago only goes about four days using the macerator.

Same here. Both toilets in our DS are macerator type and we have them set for .8 gal per flush. They can also be set for .4 gal per flush if that is your choice. Regardless not quite as good for boondocking as the old gravity toilet over the black tank.

This is what ours is and there is a macerator on the system. We're running on our 9th year problem free.

One benefit is that they can place the black tank just about anywhere which can really help weight distribution. We were recently weighed with good totals and wheel by wheel distribution.

When Fleetwood does a bath and 1/2 they install a single black tank and a Sealand Vacu-flush system. I've had 2 coaches with the system and they work pretty good. They also use very little water.

I know my rear commode is a vacu-flush. I don't believe it has a macerator on it.

Wow! We had a 45 gal black tank and it served us up to 3 weeks! I'd say, yes, yours uses more water.
