Mud/rock rear protection for towing

Any thoughts about dingy tow protection for a 2009 winnebago view will be appreciated. Will individual side or completely across the rear be better? Looking for size and brands if possible. Thank you J McD
  • Try the covers from Coast Line RV and Offroad COASTLINE. We've had 2 of their covers on toads and 2 RV bra's and will get another when these wear out. If properly cleaned they do NO, repeat NO damage to the paint on the RV or toad. I've driven with these for over 150,000 tow miles with 100 or so on dirt each year without a problem. If they don't have a pattern for yours and you can take the unit to their shop near Ontario, CA Airport, they'll make one for you while you wait.

I extended the factory mudflaps (behind the rear wheels) to 24" tall. They run 8-9-in above the pavement. We get dirt all over the toad if it rains on a muddy road, but we have not seen chips. Then again, we're 11-ft from where rubber meets the road back to the bumper.
    From what I've read here:
    1. Those stringy "hula skirts" are not very effective
    2. A flap like grandpere linked can be helpful IF it doesn't kiss the road surface on bumps and dips. If it does, it can kick debris up into the toad.
    3. If I wanted one of those wide flaps, I'd get three 24x36-in truck mud flaps and mount them crosswise to my square steel tube bumper. Those flaps are tough, but they cut very easily with a utility knife.
