Must-have upgrades...what are yours?

I *think* I'm done upgrading our new 21qb. I loved, and still do love the floorplan, but I knew due to the entry level quality I'd need to do some upgrading.

First was the "mattress" in the back corner queen. I don't think that foam board even deserves to be called a mattress! 2 memory foam toppers later it's as good as the bed at home. Top one is a blue cool gel foam and it does stay nice and cool!

Upgraded the overhead bunk with a 5" featherbed. Slightly less unsightly than a piece of foam up there, and it does the trick quite well.

My favorite though was the Oxygenics bodyspa showerhead. So easy, I installed it by myself! Took longer to break into the packaging than to put it on! Increased water pressure amazingly...can't believe it.

Finally, I ordered 2 camco square foam thingies with reflective material on one side to block light (and heat) in the 2 skylight vents.

Everything from amazon.com

I'm pretty tickled with my little rig. We crammed 6 in it this past trip and were still just fine. So is there anything else I need that I don't know I need yet? LOL

Oh, almost forgot, I also bought a fish filet table with a sink built in, so I could set up an outdoor handwashing station. That was the thing I missed the most about giving up our 5er...the outside kitchen and sink. The table is too tall for the kids so we used a stool, but I think I'll have my brother in law use the sawzall to cut the legs down. It sure does save on dirt being tracked in every time the kids or I need to wash our hands.

Oh yeah, and my propane fire ring because I can't build a fire or keep one going. But I guess that's not a motorhome upgrade! LOL

HWH levelers and solar are our favorites-

We added a 2000W Prosine Inverter to power all the internal outlets
Dual 6V batteries,
Added electrical 120V element to the Hotwater heater (one of the best investments.)

Looking at airbags next.

Our "must-haves":

- Mattress replacement (or enhancement)
- LED bulbs (we like to camp off grid)
- Upgraded house batteries (we use dual 6 volts wired in series)
- Oxygenics shower head
- Replacement aerators on the faucets for water saving. Kitchen has this: Swivel Spray Aerator and bathroom has this: Instant-Off Water Saver
- Accumulator tank so the pump doesn't have to turn on every time we use the onboard water (a noisy pet peeve in the middle of the night!)
- Thermal curtain to close off the cab
Cheers!

I want one of those inflatable autopilots like they used in the AIRPLANE! movie. That way, I could kick back in the passenger seat with a cup of coffee and watch the world go by. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, we have done literally dozens of mods from solar to inverter, transfer switch, aluminum rims, removal of decals, laminate flooring, updated entertainment centre, moved the spare to the front, UV water filter and beverage hot water heater, Grp 31 AGM batteries, 4 stage charger etc etc, but if I had to pick twoor three that were most worthwhile I would go for the Bilstein shocks, super springs and Helwig sway bar. It drives like a good handling truck, not an RV.

I was disappointed that our day-night shades are already loose and won't stay put. Hmmm...I think I need another upgrade! LOL

Does it ever end?

My first upgrade was to build a small step to get in and out of shower, then another one to more easily reach the outside step.
I turned toilet 90 degrees so I can sit on it (it was facing the
wall), and I was able to move the panel on the floor along the bed
covering a bundle of wires and water hose to give me more room to
walk beside the bed. I still have to get a power driver's seat, I can't bend down to reach the adjuster. I have a class c mh. Once I
get the mods done to make it more friendly to my disability, I will
start on the personal preferences mods.

Right now my want to do list is replacing the factory day/nite shades with some good ones from MCD Innovations. I am tired of the strings.
